Extra prayer

By

I don’t normally post in the middle of the day like this but I’ve heard that many people check the blog a couple times a day, so I’m putting this out and asking you prayer warriors to pray extra today if you can.  Bernadette’s breathing is laboured and seems to be getting more so.  Dr. Weicker thinks it could be fluid build up in her lungs and has prescribed water pills to help drain the water from her lungs and face.  In the meantime she just sounds terribly uncomfortable though she’s not complaining.  If I ask her if it hurts to breath she says yes but she doesn’t say anything otherwise.    Interestingly enough though, she’s also hungry and I can hear her tummy grumbling.

I had an experience last night that I just have to get off my chest and I know I can’t do it verbally to anyone because it would just make me cry all the harder, so I’m going to write it here and I thank you for bearing with me on this one.    I was praying for Bernadette before I went to sleep and I was thinking of Jesus’ scourging at the pillar.  My heart cried out to God that if it would do any good I would so gladly suffer a scourging myself if it meant Bernadette would recover and live.  I was surprised at my own conviction and what I was happily willing to endure for her.  Then I realized that I’d just seen a tiny glimpse into the heart of God’s heart and I understood His suffering in His crucifixion like I’d never understood it before.  There really is nothing stronger than love and now I understand the depths of God’s love for us in a whole new way.

Wow….oh wow….I’m speachless. You are living all the sorrowful mysteries every day. Your faithfulness through this horror humbles me to my knees. And to share such intimate agony with us….. courage, courage, courage. You are a beacon of courage, faithfulness and heroic love to us all. Thank you. With love, and prayer hugs to all, Virginia. ps. No joke today…..tomorrow for sure.

Patti, you are walking the way of the cross, and we, like the women, walk with you…filled with sorrow yet filled with so much love….in St. Pauls words, “neither death nor life can ever separate us from the love of God shown to us in the person ofcJesus….and shown to all of us in you and Bernadette here and now.
love and prayers, bob and joan
